Eye Screening Camp launched by cricket legend, Krishnamachari Srikkanth in Chennai

To understand the prevalence of refractive error and other common eye problems among the fishing community in East Coast Road – Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Launched by former cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Indian Vision Institute with support from Sightsavers conducted the eye screening camp to reach out to individuals that live in far-off areas.

A total of 1161 individuals were screened out of which 717 were diagnosed with refractive error and needed corrective spectacles which were provided free of cost. 388 of them were diagnosed with cataract and other ocular ailments and were referred to a nearby government hospital.
